Observing and analyzing education through the window of mass media

The aim of this article is to analyze how the education system is represented in the Mexican mass media. Four premises are established through which the author constructs her reflections. The links between the Mexican mass media -television, radio and press- and education are then examined. The author analyzes a specific case from the Internet -el Observatorio Ciudadano de la Educacion (National Observatory for Education): its origins, development and general features Finally, some fundamental concerns regarding the informative agenda of the mass media concerning education are voiced.
