摘要
Automated systems participate in an intricately interactive relationship where the majority of global databases house information; statistical analyses performed on records influence decisions; and data systems share vital information. Due to its extraordinary worth in contemporary society, information is always at risk of falling prey to information warriors and subsequently depreciating in value due to disclosure and possible content alteration. Information assurance (IA) is a multifaceted modus operandi constantly seeking to maintain assets and data system's availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. Accordingly, this paper investigates the properties of efficient and effective IA and contrasts automated IA with manual IA. Ultimately, this paper shall serve as a guide for information policy (IP) designers endeavouring to achieve a suitable balance between assurance and functionality aligned with organizational goals.
