摘要：

This article summarizes the results of a research focused in understanding the social representations for young people belonging to four rural townships in Pasto city, Colombia, before the processes of social participation, during the years 2008-2009, thus analyzing the social, cultural, economic, environmental and political necessities from a communitarian and social dimension and using methods of qualitative research.
