摘要
After surgery, the radiation dose needed to obtain local control of microscopic residual disease may have a significant impact on cosmesis. This is particularly true in patients having received plastic (and reconstructive) surgery: detrimental radiation effects may occur in case of prosthesis implanted before the diagnosis of cancer or in case of reconstructive surgery performed after mastectomy. The technical parameters of radiotherapy must be individually customized since the irradiated target volume differs from that one irradiated after standard conservative breast surgery. The key for success stands in the quality of multidisciplinary exchanges before each treatment step. (C) 2010 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
