The Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos, hundred five years in the conservation of the Diversity Biological Vegetable

Aspects of the history of The Cienfuegos Botanical Garden are dealt widening relevant features since its foundation referring to its performance in the conservation of the plant biological diversity along the 105 years of existent. The composition of the different living collections are analyzed and the dilemma of the endangered species within the garden baring in mind that most of them are represented by one, two or three individuals and at the same time referring to the risk of loss for the garden itself. Some relevant aspects of the daily work of the garden are referred to in the application of the "Conservation Strategy for Unique Species" that has permitted the recuperation of species reducing the number of the ones having this condition in the institution. The unique condition of the germoplasma kept in the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden and what it jeans in these terms to the World Economic Botany, the conservation of species and the creation of new botanical gardens in Cuba.
