摘要
A singular isoparametric boundary element is developed to analyze a crack ending at a bimaterial interface. The strain singularity near the crack tip is realized by shifting the mid-side nodes of quadratic elements adjacent to the crack tip. Compared to corresponding finite element techniques, this boundary element approach greatly reduces the number of computational degrees of freedom necessary for obtaining accurate results. Numerical results show the element is insensitive to mesh size and correlates well to the results given by other researchers.
