A GENERALISED RATIO AND PRODUCT TYPE ESTIMATOR FOR THE POPULATION MEAN IN STRATIFIED RANDOM SAMPLING

摘要：
For estimating the population mean, a generalised ratio and product type estimator has been proposed by using known information in stratified random sampling. The expressions for mean square error (MSE) and its minimum values have been obtained. The comparison of the proposed estimator with the estimator defined by Kadilar and Cingi (2005) have been made theoretically. The results have also been illustrated numerically in some special cases. It has been shown that the proposed estimator is always better than the combined ratio estimator and the Kadilar and Cingi (2005) estimator.
