摘要：

In this paper the contribution of women to the development of prehistoric archaeology as a discipline in Austria is highlighted. Early female excavators, collectors and scientists are introduced. The article further traces female graduates from the Universities of Vienna and Innsbruck, and discusses the development of women's participation in the discipline.
