The females of Cochliomyia macellaria (F.), used in this research, were originating from a stock colony, mantened in laboratory. After the oviposition, the mass of eggs, with the maximum of two hours of age, were separated in four parcels and imersed during a period of 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes, in Saline Solution. The observation of the incubation period were realized in intervals of two hours during the period of 30 hours. The incubation period and the viability of the eggs were significantly diferent from the other treatments only when the eggs were imersed during 60 minutes.
