摘要
Considering the essential importance of the inclusive social practices for people with functional diversity, at present there are increasingly the experiences that are implemented by this population from the movement widely known of Independent Life. In this line, the aim of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of one of these concrete experiences to enhance social skills and social inclusion of people with disabilities who live together with university students. It was adopted for it the qualitative method of case study to allow a detailed understanding of the question to be analysed, and in which the unit of analysis corresponds to the project which is called "Towards an Independent Life". For gathering information there have been administered two interviews to a total of 18 young people, the analysis of documents and participant observation. The extracted data indicate a clearly positive evaluation regarding the social inclusion of people with functional diversity that have enjoyed the experience, more specifically in social skills, conviviality and leisure. Consequently, the effectiveness of the project in enhancing social inclusion of this population and, therefore, of their quality of life, is concluded.
