摘要:
The method of interval estimation is used to determine the accuracy of a volume fraction measurement obtained from an areal image analysis of a series of images. The accuracy is found to depend upon the average number of objects found in each section and the number of sections that are analyzed. The method can be applied to completed measurements on a set of two-dimensional sections to estimate the error in the result. Or, the method can be used before making any measurements to select the number of sections and the size of each section for a desired accuracy.
