WORK-HARDENING OF MECHANICALLY ALLOYED FE-Y2O3 ALLOYS

摘要
The stress-strain response of mechanically alloyed iron has been examined between - 196 and 700-degrees-C as a function of the volume fraction of Y2O3 particles. Although a range of work-hardening responses are observed, the combination of parabolic and linear strain hardening dominate at both 25 and 400-degrees-C. The observed behavior at these two temperatures can be readily interpreted in terms of existing theories, taking into account the effects of temperature and volume fraction of particles on work hardening. At 700-degrees-C, the effects of recovery greatly reduce the linear hardening rate while at -196-degrees-C neither parabolic nor linear hardening are observed.
