摘要
Urban green areas, as one of the determinants of urban quality of life, are considered part of the urban spatial system and a crucial public service. The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of citizens' use of, and satisfaction with, urban green area, and to analyze the spatial patterns of these characteristics. The study is based on research conducted in residential areas of Istanbul differing in terms of their developmental process and socio-economic characteristics. Hence, the study outlines spatial patterns in the city's primary green areas in terms of their use and satisfaction, and highlights diversifications according to the socio-economic and spatial attributes of residential areas. Through its findings, the study provides an analytical assessment of urban green area use and satisfaction levels, and moreover, provides assistance for potential interventions aimed at improving green area quality and effective utilization in Istanbul, while also spatially addressing these intervention areas.
