摘要
In Latin America, the comparative sensitivity in the political and social sciences, starts during the first half of the twentieth century; however it acquires a greater momentum in the second half of the twentieth century, through the institutionalization of the social sciences in the region and, especially since the 1970s, the use of modern tools in comparative method. This allowed the configuration of an agenda of issues and political science debates that shaped the Latin American comparative politics. In this paper, we will focus on three central debates of the agenda of Latin American comparative politics: democracy, presidentialism and political parties. Our expectation is to be abl e to analyze, first, the diversity an peculiarities of the region; second, understand what were the main developments and arguments of comparative production inside those debates and, finally, try to figure out the main theoretical and methodological decisions that guided those debates.
