摘要
Equations of motions, constitutive equations and boundary conditions are derived for a class of thermo-micropolar fluids whose micro-elements can undergo dynamical expansions and contractions. These fluids can have translatory and rotory motions with spin inertia and therefore can support surface tractions and couples. In addition, microelements of these fluids can stretch and contract. These degrees of freedom are reminicent of the motions of bubbly fluids where bubbles can not only move and rotate with the fluid but they can also oscillate in the manner of expansions and contractions. Thermodynamical restrictions are studied. The theory is illustrated with the solution of the problem of acoustical waves in bubbly liquids. The dispersion relations are in complete agreement with the celebrated result of Van Vijngaarden. © 1990.
