摘要
The role of design in city branding strategy has moved beyond the creation of an attractive logo and a graphic poster with a bold catchphrase. Graphic design, architecture, interior design, product and design strategy have come together to form a multidisciplinary approach to city branding, tapping into experience once reserved for corporate clients, creating new synergies and helping cities and nations develop culturally, economically and socially. This paper reports on a workshop held on 2nd-5th April, 2004 at Shantou University (Guangdong Province, China), based on a model of city branding developed by Kan and Lau Design Consultants.
