RESPONSE OF TARAMIRA VARIETIES TO NITROGEN-FERTILIZATION

A field experiment was conducted during rabi 1983-84 to study the effect of four levels of nitrogen (0, 15, 30 and 45 kg N/ha) on three varieties (T27, ITSA, RTM-2) of taramira (Eruca sativa L.). The seed and oil yield increased with increase in doses of nitrogen. Conversely the oil content decreased with increase in doses of N and was the lowest in 45 kg N/ha treatment. Among the varieties the highest seed and oil yields were recorded in T27, followed by ITSA and RTM-2.
