Contemporary labor and social history in France through the study of Le Mouvement Social (1960-2000)

The aim of this work is to divulge the evolution of the contemporary labour and social history written in France through the analysis of its most outstanding scientific publication: Le Mouvement Social. In 1960, the Labour history magazine and bulletin of the Institut Francais d'Histoire Sociale, L'Actuante de l'Histoire, gave way to Le Mouvement Social which along four decades has become a main object to know the contemporary French history. Guided by prestigious historians and following the rhythm of the social changes, its chronological frame has enlarged to the histoire du temps present, its study space has left the French frontiers to the whole planet and its thematic, has gone further the labour movement history, helping in a decisive way with the creation of the present day French social history.
