Health Economics, Health Care System and Public Health in Medical Studies

Along with the revision of the German regularities to licence medical practice from June 27th, 2002, thoughts have given to the growing importance of economic and socio-political changes in the Health care system. Health economics, Health care system and Public Health have had to be mandatory introduced in educational programs at the medical faculties as one out of twelve new established multidisciplinary crosssectional subjects. Unfortunately, no detailed content and learning targets for the implementation of these courses have been specified. As a consequence, teaching concepts in Health economics, Health care system and Public Health will probably vary nationwide. In addition, the final state examination concluding the study of medicine will be made further difficult for students by non-uniform und unspecified curricular. The curriculum presented here makes a contribution for discussion and should be regarded as a proposal for implementation of a uniform teaching concept in Health economics, Health care system and Public Health.
