摘要：
Sol-gel processing is especially useful for the preparation of inorganic fibers. The fabrication of fibers requires rheological properties of the fiber source not necessarily characteristic of fused ceramic materials. Sol-gel processes can be used in the fabrication of ceramic fibers having no glassformers in the final inorganic fiber. This extends the range of ceramic fibers to include compositions especially useful because of their high-temperature properties, high tensile strength and modulus of elasticity values, or chemical resistance.
