A REVIEW OF GALL-MIDGE SPECIES (DIPTERA, CECIDOMYIIDAE) FROM ARTHROPHYTUM SPP FROM KAZAKHSTAN

There were found 10 gall-midge species from the genera Stefaniola Kieffer, Halodiplosis Kieffer, and Bojalodiplosis Fedotova on 7 species of Arthrophytum. 5 midge species are described as new for science. Males of Halodiplosis nonophytonigemmae are described for the first time. The fodder plant of this species is only Arthrophytum iliense, but not Nanophyton erinaceum as it was indicated previously. Stefaniola arthrophytumicola Fedotova develops itself on A. ilense only. Indications on findings of S. arthrophytumicola on other fodder plants relate to a new species. Monophagous species develop themselves only on A. iliense. Data on biology, distribution and feeding are given.
