Pontecorvo's last works, after the dismissal from cinema made for theatres, occurred with Ogro. A series of documentaries, most of all collective works, with a political and militant dimension, except the short movie Nostalgia di protezione. The success of Un altro mondo e possibile, the 2001 Genoa's G8 summit film. The definitive farewell and the symbolic handover with Gillo's son, Marco. Does a Pontecorvo's "cinematic legacy" exist? The influence on contemporary American cinema, from New Hollywood on, e some misunderstanding. A few possible "heirs", in Italy and abroad.
