摘要
This work deals with research and determination of the machinability of hard materials with chip-type of machining operations. The performance of tool life and surface roughness has been evaluated by turning material C.4732 (45 HRC) by carbide tools. To obtain statistically significant results and to estimate factor effects and interactions, a four-factor two-level experiment was applied. Experimental result is treated with regression analysis and confirmed with equations of mathematical model, which shows dependency of tool life and surface roughness on cutting speed, feed, depth of cut and tool nose radius. Optimisation of cutting parameters is achieved by using geometric programming method.
