The place of human rights and bioethics in the new orientation of university extension

At the gates of the centenary of the reform of Cordoba, the Udelar defined orientation of its extension policies, assuming the principles of Latin American university model and notes the remarkable changes at national, regional and global levels. A theoretical development of the extension function of the twenty-first century is needed. The option of placing human rights as a frame of reference, the obligation for greater attention to the ethical issues of interventions and resorting to bioethics, especially the contributions of the Latin American critical bioethics, are fundamental challenges of this stage.
