From war to revolution: political views of Russian army officers, 1914-1917

The author shows ideological evolution of Russian officers. At the beginning of the war the officers were politically inert. It had been changed, however since the officers analyzed and criticized military strategy and government's politics. The other important factor could be seen in the fact that new officers that joined the Russian army during the war belonged to various social strata and introduced new views and attitudes to this social group.
