The organosilicon polymers PSTM with carbofunctional thioureido groups (PSTM and PSTM-3T are highly dispersed forms, PSTM-3S - granular form) are highly effective sorbents for gold. The polymers PSTM are the most effective in the solutions of hydrochloric and, sulfuric acids. The static sorption capacity of polymers PSTM-3, PSTM-3T and PSTM-3S for gold(III) is 454, 600 and 51,5 mg/g, respectively. The sorbents, are selective for gold (III) on the background of 10(5)-fold excess of zinc, cobalt, nickel, iron and lead. The method of emissive - spectrophotometric gold (III) determination in natural objects, such as gold sands and polymetallic ores using preconcentration of gold with PSTM sorbents is suggested. This method is higly reproductive (S(r) = 0.05-0.4). Its reliability was confirmed by standard tests. The mechanism of gold (III) sorption with PSTM polymers is a coordination - complex involving a preliminary stage of Au (III) to Au (I) reduction.
