摘要
The article presented is a version of a material prepared for the work of the Iberoamerican Network of management of traditional knowledge for coasts (GESTCON). The central elements of the so-called Science Technology and Society approach and their viability for the interpretation of the present processes of the management of traditional knowledge are exposed. The present interpretations may assert that some movements in the comprehension of the social factors of the knowledge are produced, legitimating their traditional manners and their contextual character. These aspects are related to the objectives of the STS approach, so they tend to demystify science, the promotion of the public participation in the scientific - technological management and the critic to the technocratic positions, at the same time they give us the opportunity to place an adecuated interpretation frame in the promotion of the universitary scientific investigation.
