THE ORIENTATION AND TUTORING AT THE UNIVERSITY IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA (EHEA)

The article reviews the challenges that university professors as coachers and counselors must face according to the new European Higher Education Area rules. The pilot experiences of transforming ordinary degrees into the new degrees according to competence based profiles and student workload implied a deep reformulation of university professors roles, among them, tutorship, coaching and guidance must be specially underlined. These activities have been adapted according to the increasing importance and diversification of the student's work load, the increasing demand of coordination and the support to the development of academic and professional competencies.
