摘要：
A representative national survey of 758 Israelis found that they were highly interested in, and were heavy consumers of television news, with fairly similar interest in domestic and foreign events, thus suggesting a broad outlook on the reporting of world affairs. Also, their perceptions of news selection criteria corresponded to some degree with known news values presumably applied by journalists. Finally, they exhibited little ethnocentricity in terms of their perceived reasons why foreign news is shown on television.
