Biodegradable polymer compositions on poly(vinyl alcohol) and starch

摘要
There were obtained two kinds of polymer compositions from poly(vinyl alcohol) and the starch (PVA/ST) plasticized with butano-1,4-diol and ethano-1,2-diol. The urea, boric acid and butoxylated melamine-formaldehyde resin were used as crosslinking agents. The obtained compositions were exposed to municipal sludge water and soil as biological degradation media. The results showed that the PVA/ST compositions are degradable. It was confirmed by changes on surface of samples and decrease in their tensile strength.
