摘要
Aerosol formation in the course of an evaporative release of volatile species from liquids into a gas atmosphere has been considered as significant radioactive source term in nuclear power safety analysis. As a contribution to this subject, a mechanistic model for the evaporative release of volatile species, like sodium and some fission products, from liquid surfaces into an inert gas atmosphere has been developed and implemented into the computer code REVOLS.MOD1 (RElease of VOLatile Species). For the coupling to the severe accident code CONTAIN/LMFBR, a simplified version REVOLS.MOD2 has been developed. The fast running REVOLS.MOD2 is based on REVOLS.MOD1 parameter studies, entering power law sort of mathematical correlations. The comparison of theoretical predictions with experimental results shows satisfactory agreement.
