摘要：
The process of reimbursement for hospital and residential treatment has changed drastically in recent years, and a trend is being established to design continuums of care in which patients are transferred between programs as clinically indicated. This pattern has reduced lengths of stay in hospital and residential treatment programs. The prospect of providing short-term residential treatment is discussed as both a conceptual and practical problem. A model of short-term residential treatment is described.
